Do you remember a time when there was no such thing as Social Media? Ah, the good old days? Or were they? I guess it all depends on who you ask, but lately I can’t but help to think that we are experiencing a social media overload.
Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Foursquare, Blogs, Youtube, My_________, Bebo, Flickr, Ning, Tumblr, Posterous, Skype, SocialVibe, Yammer, Soundcloud, Meetup, Faceparty, Digg, Stumbleupon, Instagram, Reddit, and there are countless others, with new ones popping up almost every day.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Do you ever ask yourself, “what the heck am I doing?”
Here’s another question, “how many different passwords do you have? Do you remember them all?” Now don’t get me wrong, social media does serve a purpose and I thoroughly enjoy it, but I wonder if many of us ever stop and ask ourselves, what’s the point of all of this?
You may be using social media to promote your brand or a cause you are willing to give your life for. Your reasoning may be purely for entertainment value or social media may pay the bills. Whatever your reasoning is, beware of the social media overload.

Great post! Very true… will the social media bubble pop and collapse? Will we see that rise of anti-digital monks?
Thanks for stopping by Sean. I appreciate the work your are doing with The Church at South Las Vegas and with Think International. Keep it!
