Keurig
Do you love coffee?
I know that I am one who would fall into this category. I must admit that I am not a hard core connoisseur of coffee but I do enjoy a cup or two a day (sometimes even 3). For years I have wrestled with finding the right machine until a couple years ago. A friend of mine introduced the Keurig machine to me one night when my wife and I had dinner in his home. I was blown away by the quickness and precision of the coffee maker. One perfect cup of coffee in less than 15 seconds. WOW! Not only was it quick, but is was a quality cup of coffee. A few months passed by before I went out and purchased the machine. Since then, I have appreciated the machine immensely (Emril’s Coffee is my favorite) and it has become a real conversation piece when we have friends over for dinner. I think I have been responsible for 10 or more Keurig machines being sold and I have still yet to see any kickback from Keurig. Oh well, I will continue to be a raving fan!
Here is a link to their website and I will allow them to explain their product, as they do a much better job then I could ever. Go ahead and try one; it will become your best friend.
A blog about nothing…
I spent some very needed time on my blog last night and one thing became very clear to me as I surveyed it … I have neglected it! There, I said it. I have known for some time that this ‘blog’ is a ‘blog’ about nothing. There is no rhyme or reason to when I post or even what I write about. This makes me
.
So what I feel to do is take some time and begin to contemplate the direction I want to take this blog. For most people who consider themselves to be bloggers have a specific niche they are writing to or at least their blog serves a purpose in that it is a place for them to improve their writing skills or even an ‘online journal’ per se.
My commitment to this blog is as follows:
1. To write at least three posts per week.
2. Intentional development of an online community. (I need to spend time on other blogs and engaging them and not just expecting everyone to show up to my blog and leave an obscene amount of comments.)
3. To create specific content for a specific ‘crowd.’
4. To continually improve my writing skills as a ‘blogger.’
How is your blogging coming along?
Relaxing Snow
Since moving to the West Coast of Canada 10 years ago winters just haven’t been the same. As a young kid, I was use to seeing at least 3 or 4 feet of snow every winter. Living just outside of Vancouver, BC, in the Fraser Valley we just don’t see much snow. I find it hard at times during the holiday season to get in the mood as I have grown accustom to seeing the white stuff all over the ground but this year is kind of different. Currently, the ground is still green and brown and there is no sign of snow in the forecast. So sad!
Thanks to James Cooper from ChurchMAG who shared this online Christmas resource – Relaxing Snow. Hit the play button and relax. Happy Holiday’s!
Building A City
How many remember the game Sim City? It was a game I first played when I was a teenager and I honestly couldn’t get enough of it. I always wanted to be on the computer watching my city grow and seeing city’s bank account grow. Then there was the time where I wasn’t patient enough and wreaked havoc on the city I was creating and utterly destroyed it.
Lately I have been giving some thought about building cities. Dream with me for a second. What if you had the opportunity to be the architect responsible for building a new city. Where would you begin? What would be important for you? What would your vision be for the city? The questions could go on and on.
I have a firm conviction that we are to play a role in the development of culture in the city which we call home. What are you doing to make a difference in your community? If you had the opportunity to build a city, how would you do it? I would love to hear your thoughts about ‘building a city.
Weekly Findings
This past week was a pretty busy week for me as we are preparing our Fall season where I work and at the local church I serve. Here are some of the items I clipped to my trunk.
1. Thanks to Michael Hyatt, I came across this Social Media report. Click here to see it.
2. I am quite new to Photoshop, so I need all the help I can get. Here is a tutorial on how to create a photo collage. Anyone else using Photoshop?
3. Here is a site where you can get free PSD’s and other resources. Check it out!
4. Again, another Photoshop resource. Quality brushes for Photoshop. This past week I spent a lot of time searching around the web for Photoshop resources.
What about you? Did you find anything interesting this week?
Ode to Steve Jobs
I love infographics. I think they are cool! Here is one I came across the other day over at Column Five Media. It is an ode to Steve Jobs.’
I’ve Never Been, But I Would Like To.
