Twitter Facts

I love infographics!  There, I said it.  Approximately 5 months ago I quit Facebook (best thing I have done in a long time) and have focused my attention to Twitter.  I came across this cool infographic from Jeff Bullas’s blog.  Enjoy!

Fresh Content

Adding fresh content to your blog on a regular basis is vital to its success.  As I stated in an earlier post “we are content consumers” and everyday a ton of online data is being shared therefore it is important to post fresh content.  Now let’s face it, it is not always easy to come up with fresh content; so what do you do?  Here are a few things I do that helps me freshen up my site.

1. When you get a chance, write or create a bunch of posts so that you can schedule them over the course of a few days.  I have found this to be very helpful as I find myself getting busy with life, family and work, this is a great way to add fresh content.

2.  Keep it short and simple.  Enough said.

3.  Upload a video of someone or a topic that you connect with and share it with others.

4.  Not that I have done this yet but I have been encouraged to add ‘guest posts’ to contribute to your blog.

These are just a few ideas to add fresh content to your blog on a daily basis.  What do you do to keep your content fresh?

Big But

I have a Big But! There, I said it. Guess what? You have a big but too. Now before you get too angry, listen closely. Have you ever thought about the excuses you have made throughout your lifetime that have kept you from fulfilling your purpose? Do they haunt you? The truth is – our buts are usually the things which get in our way from fulfilling all that God has for our lives.

Here is a list of some of the ‘buts’ we use:

But I don’t know where to start
But I don’t have enough money
But I don’t know how to pray
But I don’t have all the answers
But others will think I am a nerd
But I just can’t get motivated
But people will think I am strange
But they won’t like me if I talk about Jesus
But I don’t need anyone
But I don’t feel like it
But Connections group is the same night as my favorite show
But I don’t like too many people
But I’m not happy
But that’s not my gifting
But I am ok

And the biggest but of all time – I don’t have enough time! But, but, but. Here a but, there a but, everywhere a but, but. It’s time for you and I to minimize our excuses! It’s time for us to shrink our buts! Say it – it’s time for me to shrink my but! Do you ever feel like whatever God asks you to do, you have a but for it? Jesus loves you and He has a wonderful plan for your life, so stop making excuses and embrace whatever it is He is calling you to do. If your but is bigger than you why, then your but is too big!

What’s your biggest ‘but’ right now?

He is worth it!

He is worth it! Jesus that is. I was sitting in my home office last night staring at the screen of my computer when all of a sudden I heard the words pop right into my head, He is worth it! So true. I began to make a mental list of all the things He has done in my life, the things I have seen since I made the decision to follow Him, and the words I use that describe Him. Here are just a few…

He gives hope to the hopeless.
He set me free from a 10 year hard-core drug addiction.
He restored me.
He has shown me that my life has value.
Men who were in bondage to drugs, alcohol, pornography, pride and so many other issues, now delivered.
I have purpose.
I have been blessed with a beautiful family.
I have been given responsibility.
He is close to the broken-hearted.
Healer!
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Wonderful Counselor.
He has given me another chance.
Grace.
Mercy.

My prayer is that I would never forget what He has done for me, and hold onto the words He has spoken over me and share with others what He has done in me, because He is worth it!

Creation | Do You Believe In God?

Do you believe in God?

Who’s Kingdom are you building?  Yours or His?

Leaving a Legacy

What do you want to be remembered for?  What will people be saying about you after you are gone?  We have been given life not so that it would be wasted, rather it has been given to us so that we would make it count.  I once heard that if we are not leaving a legacy, then we are building a monument unto ourselves. I want my life to matter.  I want to make a positive impact upon those who I am connected to.  When all is said and done and I leave this earth, I want to be remembered as one who lived his life trying to make a difference.  Psalm 127:3.

I love to dream…

I love to dream…

These are the words which keep ringing in my head and I cannot seem to shake them.  I was surfing the net the other day checking out different websites and blogs I enjoy when I came across the words that have pierced my heart.  I do not know exactly why they did, I just know that they did.  Have you ever has that happen?  Words which seem to cut right through you.  Those words got me thinking about the different dreams, goals and aspirations I have for my life.  Here are just a few…

1. One day I would like to write a book.

2. One day I would like to plant a church.

3. One day I would like to travel to a distant land.

4. One day I would like to coach my children in a sport.

5. One day I would like to buy a Mac.

6. One day I would like to own my own coffee shop.

7. Today, I want to make a difference.

What are you dreaming about?

Do You Pray?

Let’s be honest, praying doesn’t always come natural to us. It can be hard work sometimes. It takes discipline.  One of the issues I see with prayer is that we try too hard.  We use big words and often pray from our heads and not our hearts.  He is not impressed one bit by the size of the words we use or even the length of them.  All He wants is our hearts.  How is your prayer life?  Do you even pray?  What are you praying for right now.
